I had the absolute pleasure over recent months to volunteer with the Humane Society (Hastings Prince Edward) as a photographer. While time constraints and other commitments brought that sweet chapter to a close, the memories and experience will stay with me forever. The dedicated staff, fellow volunteers, and of course, all the beautiful animals… are simply amazing! I highly recommend their animal services or to volunteer if you have a chance – you won’t be sorry!

I had a wonderful experience adopting my dog Cora. Every staff member I interacted with was wonderful, especially the young man who would bring Cora to me when I came for visits before taking her home. Thanks to Steve as well for helping me through the process. Now that Cora has joined my family, she is one happy dog and we are very happy with such a beautiful, playful, gentle addition to our home, and I have these fine folks to thank for that.

I was attending a celebration of life for Donna Endicott being held in the Donna A Endicott memorial teaching room. She was very dear to me and obviously supported her local Humane Society, and with good reason. These people really care about the animals and designed the building around them. The dogs have access to outside and inside at their choice. The cats live well with families kept together. While we were there two kittens were adopted. Donna's husband, Butch, continues to take home dogs who don't have long to go, and they get to live a few weeks or months in a loving home at the end. That must be hard for him, but imagine the joy he gives those dogs. This is a great institution and I urge you to support them and adopt a loving animal if you can. A pet deserves it. Imagine if you die and you have pets. That's why many of these animals are there. They miss their human.

I love the friendly, caring people at the Humane Society Hastings! I was fortunate to meet Norman’s foster mum. Norman is a welcome and lively addition to our family. He and Morris are figuring out their new relationship.

I was hoping that someday, I might be able to come in and volunteer sometime, bc I owned 2 of the best pets, and I'd swear, I will donate more to the Animals. I miss my 2 girls, and I have always gave spare food, litter, and treats to the shelter. Please keep doing a good job, and welcome to your new building!

Very very cool place! The best pets available for adoption! They really do treat both ends of the leash exceptionally well!

If I could give this place less than one star, I definitely would! My puppy was picked up after a family member lost him when I was out of town and within a week or so he was neutered and adopted out. The Belleville humane society knew I was trying to get there but that didn't matter to them. The employees were very cold and rude to me. I am disgusted with how I was treated over losing my puppy and with them not even giving me much of a chance to get him back! This place should be shut down!!

No help, only indifference. Was put on a wait list to put a cat in their care - 4 months later, not a call. Called regarding possible mange in wildlife, only told to call that place in Deseronto, who never returned my call either.

Update: we're still waiting to hear back, still on this "waitlist" that we strongly suspect is just a paper you see your name on before leaving, but which is just shredded at the end of the day. A lie in other words.
About 2 1/2 years on this "waitlist" with no call? Scam. Lies. And a total trust-destroyer!
