I met and cared for my cat, Mamas, at the start of my deployment and developed a bond with her immediately. She was initially very sassy with other service members and I became the only one that could pet her without getting scratched or bitten.
Eventually as my deployment came to an end, I went back and forth on what should happen with Mamas - if I should bring her back to the States with me or let her roam free.
Three days before I was set to leave theater, I was given Kurdo’s number, who I was able to arrange a pick up/drop off location with the SPCA driver within 24 hours. Within 12 hours of Mamas being in Kurdo’s care, I received multiple messages and updates about Mamas’ wellbeing and photos.
After all the surgeries and treatments, she was finally ready to come home, and I can’t wait to make sure she’s comfortable being here!

Update: She arrived safely and is acclimating well to being a house cat. SPCA International ensured I received all her medical info so she’s good to go for her first vet appointment. I picked her up from JFK’s The Ark but they did offer the option of flying her to a closer airport (I was just impatient). Again, I can’t thank the SPCA International staff enough for reuniting me with my baby girl.

Fiona Animal Refuge is located 200 miles south of Laredo, Texas. We work to give street dogs a life worth living. SPCAI has blessed us 2 years in a row with grant funds to spay and neuter a large number of dogs and cats. I am the Founder and we are beyond grateful for this caring Organization.

Had an absolutely amazing experience bringing two dogs back from the Middle East. The partner shelter was incredible and sent regular updates and photos of the dogs. The SPCAI staff were also great in communication and clearly cared about the work they were doing. I would 100% use this service in the future if the need were to ever arise.

Corazones Gatunos is a shelter and temporary home for cats in Lima- Peru. We take cats from the streets in Lima and give them the care they need so they can be adopted. Corazones Gatunos opened in 2019, and since then, we have received the most valuable moral and economic support from SPCA International. The grants that SPCA International had awarded Corazones Gatunos had allowed us to continue with our work, giving our cats all the facilities they needed to heal physically and emotionally.
The moral support we receive with each of those grants has been of the utmost importance; they reaffirm SPCA International's confidence in our work and impulse us to continue and improve our work.
Since Corazones opened its doors in October 2019, more than one thousand cats have been taken from Lima's streets; from those, 810 have found a new home.
