This is a hidden gem and we are so glad we decided to explore what was out here because we discovered this beautiful refuge. The visiting center was great and definitely take time to watch the 17 minute video that repeats every half hour. There are fun challenges throughout the visiting center which make it fun to learn for both kids and adults. There are some walking paths around the visiting center to explore and see some wonderful wildlife. There are picnic tables too so pack a lunch and come bird watch. If you have a sturdy wheelchair you could push it around the paths, but know it is gravel. We look forward to renting a 4x4 and driving out to explore the fossils and more hidden gems. If you want to relax and get away from all the noise, this is the place to go.

Easy trail to navigate, absolutely stunning views. We were there on a Tuesday, the office was closed, but a park employee was doing maintenance and was super friendly and helpful. Amazing place, if you like trails, this is a must drive. I would recommend having a little clearance under your vehicle, but the trail was clearly marked and maintained.

I love this area for camping, hiking, and exploring. I am still disappointed in the gate being closed for no night entry. This was a nice close open area to come to after sunset to watch meteor showers and photograph the stars. Sometimes because of schedule conflicts it's hard to get there before the gates closed. I wish you'd reconsider that. The roads are easily traveled with high clearance and off road tires. There are some very rocky areas. Beautiful landscape and tons of wildlife.

Beautiful place. If you drive their “roads” make sure you have enough clearance and plenty of water, you are in the middle of the desert after all and on your own, which is awesome and dangerous at the same time. Average of 10 miles per hour on the eastern side. Special thanks for the great advice and kindness of the person present at the visitor center on August 9.

Awesome place to visit. Unfortunately the visitors center was closed (Monday & Tuesday) but the trails behind the visitors center are fantastic. Well maintained, firm, smooth, wide and a very easy walk. The restrooms are clean with soap and the hand dryers worked. They were even open despite the visitor center being closed.

First time visiting this little gem.
Visitor center was closed because of the holiday.

Great place to go for a stroll solo or with the family. Dog friendly.

An informative center staffed by welcoming rangers/volunteers. Thirty minutes north of Spring Mountains Visitor Gateway. This center is an oasis in the middle of the desert. There’s short informative walks on hiker friendly paths. Recommend if you have some extra time in the area.

Great walking trails and very pleasant this time of the year. Hope to come back once the visitors' center is reopened. However a left turn lane off Highway 95 as you're heading toward Vegas would be better because the speed limit is 70 mph and there's only one sign.
