Erin saved my life.

I had gone in for a dermatological issue that had been bothering me on the top of my head. When I got into the office and had my appointment instead of rushing onto her next appointment, she became fascinated with my skin and asked if, I had time for her to check the many moles that I have accumulated over my six decades of life.
Needless to say, I was happy for her to check my body out. It had been sent sometime since I had a full body scan, and there was no history of melanoma in my family. It was always a good idea to check. Two moles were really suspect by her And she biopsied both of them painlessly and quickly. (Erin has amazing technique. )
The lab report showed that one of the moles that she took off happened to be a melanoma that had apparently just started in the upper layers of my skin. A quick operation and the year and a half of vigilance later and I am cancer free.

The story could’ve been very different with very easily some, significant tragic outcomes for myself and my family.

You don’t always get a medical practitioner like Erin who deeply cares and is very engaged with her profession. She is my dermatology hero!!!

Erin was so sweet and really down to earth. She took the time to talk with me about everything and made sure I was comfortable through out the entire appointment. The nurse in the room with us was just as sweet. (Unfortunately, I forgot her name)

Erin gives the best total skin check I have ever had! I have had skins checks for more than one person and she is more thorough than anyone. She is also very personable and knowledgeable.

Erin is awesome - listened - reviewed data - gave me options but helped with my decision - very knowledgeable & personable! It was a great experience. Not sure i can relate to a Dr who doesn't have 1% body fat. LOL!

Erin was very kind and I felt comfortable with her. She did a thorough skin exam, checking previously treated cancerous areas and the areas I was concerned about. She
explained the various differences of my skin bumps, precancerous or otherwise. I wish all doctors were gentle and smart like Erin.

Was really disappointed. The first appointment with her went great. Then I went back before the mohs to ask about something I’d been feeling for awhile now. She has brushed it off last time, so I chalked it up to simply forgetting what I said.

I showed her the spots just under the surface that I wondered about. Asked her to feel it. I said if you barely touch this, you can feel this under the skin.

She proceeded to push across it and said she didn’t feel it. I tried to explain again. She touched it and said, are you sure you don’t feel hair?

No, this is under the skin.

I know you are scared about what is coming up…

No. I’m not worried about it. I want to know about what I’m feeling. These spots underneath the basal cell branch out and I am wondering about it. Touched them again

Well, you know women your age start to grow some hard little hairs sometimes.

No. This is not what I’m talking about.

Well I know these situations cause anxiety etc.

I stopped her. I said I am NOT worried. I used to be in the medical field b my Mom and older sister both have had several small spots

Again I am shrugged off and said tge foots look find. You gave Miya coming up, then you can see an ent. I’ll be glad to help…

No. I’m seeing my ent in a few weeks…

So basically this second visit I was told I wad, I was old, I was anxious and finally, it wasn't anything. Just talk to an ent, even though this is a dermatology thing.

To say I'm unhappy is the least of my problems. My age was brought in, I was treated as if I didn't know anything because she would slow down and listen and hear what I said. Just did her own thing with gee opinion already chosen.

We left and my husband said, she reminds me of that doctor who said it had to be mental--my pain—until I went to another doctor who was shocked. Said I had a place the size of a fifty-cent piece that wasn't adhesions. The thirty-minute surgery turned into a 3 1/2 hourr surgery. When she came out to talk to my husband before opening me up completely he told her, she knew something more qaa wring anold me when you asked to do it,

I laughed and said I thought the same thing. I went from unable to walk to walking a mile two weeks after surgery.

So here I am again, in the same situation with a different doctor. .
Will I go back? …..

You guess.

She's a really nice woman. If you are older, 40+, or are concerned about something that doesn't fit in a nice little box…ir you want to question and be heard, I would suggest I E appointment. See how you like her. Listen to see what she says and if she is actually listening. Or if she brushes something off.

Finally, Sorry if there’s a lot of mistakes, I have multiple sclerosis and it’s a horrible horrible chore to try to type..
