Flika has become a must-visit attraction during our twice yearly trip to Cornwall. The staff here are second to none, friendly, knowledgeable and their love for the resident donkeys and ponies shines through! The sanctuary itself is spotlessly clean and spacious. There is a vegan cafe serving beautiful food, cakes and hot drinks, as well as a picnic area for those that bring their own refreshments. The donkeys and ponies are well cared for and have an abundance of space. Their stories are up around the sanctuary so visitors can get a real feel for the importance of the work carried out by the sanctuary and it's staff. There is a small gift shop and second hand book store. If you are looking for an hour or two in peaceful, happy surroundings this is the place for you. Well behaved dogs are welcome (and fussed over!) on a lead.

Truly spectacular place and I highly recommend for a day out for anyone local or visiting.

I couldn't begin to share just how great of a day we had here. We were welcomed warmly by the fantastic staff who were not only kind and helpful, but so knowledgeable and happy to answer questions and share their love of their animals.

The centre is free to enter, with donations accepted, however I did appreciate that there were multiple donation sites around the centre so at no point did I feel pressured to donate unless I wished.

Firstly, wow!!! I never expected the setting and scenery to be quite so spectacular. Incredibly beautiful. Plus highly accessible to all with no steps anywhere, and wide open pathways suitable for wheelchairs, motorised wheelchairs, and buggies.

Secondly, and most importantly, the animals were just the highlight of the visit. I didn't expect the quality or the quantity to be so high, but I shouldn't have been so surprised as it is clear that all the animals here are abundantly loved and cared for at the highest possible standard. Every animal had access to multiple areas both indoor and outdoors, with plentiful food and water at all times. They were all clearly groomed and cared for on a one on one basis regularly, which at over 100 donkeys is a giant feat!

I loved that each animal had a plaque with their story, I even took pictures to read later as I couldn't take it all in. Each and every animal here truly felt equally valued which is special.

We were also very glad we skipped the pack lunch that day (although there were picnic benches for those that had) as the food and drinks available were delicious. I was delighted to find a wholly vegan cafe and even more pleased by the food offered. The food was fairly simple but delicious and with a wide arrange of offerings from pasties, salads and toasties, to soup, cream teas, and crumpets. Plus all at a reasonable price. The cakes were also a delicious bonus I'd recommend.

Overall I couldn't say enough good things about flicka. I wish I had found it before my grandad passed as he would have adored this sanctuary, although I'm grateful for the opportunity to make a donation in his name.

Stumbled on this place quite by accident on our way to somewhere else. I've never seen it advertised. It's a wonderful place for abused and mistreated Donkeys to live the rest of their lives in peace. The Donkeys can come and go as they please and if they want to say Hello they will and if they don't they won't, which is what like as they can decide for themselves. The cafe is lovely and plenty of seating, inside and out. The food tastes amazing. I have never tried vegan food before and the cakes are amazing, really tasty! The little shop sells some great items as souvenirs. I have adopted Daisy and I will be back next time I am on holiday in Cornwall. ?

The best place! Me and my boyfriend made regular trips throughout our university study because of the free entry, mental health boost that came with seeing cute donkeys and the lovely cafe that provides delicious food on site. Whether it's in the rain or the sun, it's a brilliant place to visit and see the gorgeous donkeys being taken care of. Also the gift shop has some absolute gems and I've bought many items from there. Plenty of parking too, and a sweet book shop on the way in. For students especially, I recommend going here since we don't get many interactions with our animal friends, so this is a great opportunity for that (obviously being mindful that these animals have been abused and are frightened so being respectful).

A wonderful place, passionate about giving donkeys the dignified quality of life they deserve. Many of these beautiful, noble creatures have experienced horrific cruelty by humans, and yet they are friendly and affectionate to visitors. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, and I can't thank them enough for the work they do. And what's more, it's free. So please go, spend lots of money in the gift shop and cafe, and leave a donation too. It's such a worthwhile cause!
