In 1947 I was confirmed here. Plus I went to school here. I'd like to say I miss the nuns but I'd be fibbing because their wooden Coca Cola rulers didn't miss the back of my hands. LOL.

Is beautiful in the inside, very peaceful. I did my 1st confirmation there in mercy divine Sunday. I am going to start in September, my communion. I am so happy.I started coming to this church.

I'm giving it a 5 star because where ever Gods name is stamped, I only see perfection. However, as someone mentioned before, some of the staff are disrespectful and use a demeaning approach when assisting people. Specifically the rectory... lady named under Lilian is very rude, bitter, and uncaring. The church does not support immigrants, unless you continue to contribute with money. (The money needs to be stamped) I continue to attend Our Lady of Refuge Church because I come for the powerful word of the Lord. I also respect the church leader (s). New priest seem correct and empathic. Missing Father Jenik, and will continue to keep him in my prayers... Overall, where ever you go, keep in mind that we all attend church due to a common purpose, and that is to worship God in order to thank him for his love. Therefore, don't stop going.

My children were baptized at this church. They also did their communion and confirmation here. We never had any problems here. Great church. We also have build the block meetings here when the church is good enough to allow us and they help us a lot both the church and the police. Today 02/07/20 we the people of the North West Bronx held a vigil for Bronxite Dad Ramon Garcia Ponce who was snatched by ice agents acting like regular police and after the family opened the door to their apartment the ice agents snatched this chronically ill father and grandfather right from his home and detained him. Ice wolves in sheep's clothing. Don't open your door to the police ever.
