After 25 years as the manager of a large boarding facility, I knew what I was (and wasn’t) looking for when the need arose to board my own dog. I was familiar with Petra through friends that used her as their dogs’ PT, and from her involvement with FDSA, and I was fortunate to be within a 40 minute drive of here. I stopped in for a tour of the kennel, with my list of questions in hand, and was completely satisfied with what I saw and heard. Next I scheduled my pup for daycare once a week for a month as a way of introducing her to kenneling, she was a bit nervous when I handed her off the first day, as I expected she would be, but much to my delight, she couldn’t get in the door fast enough on the second day. Then I left her for one overnight, this would be the big test as she’d never spent a night away from us in her 3 years. I was happy to hear that she settled in fine and actually ate her dinner, but I was overjoyed when she was just as excited to get there for her next daycare. She loves all the ladies that work here, and they seem to love her just as much. She has since spent 4 nights and did great. I am happy with the variety of extra services that they offer, very important for physical and mental enrichment, and I appreciate that I can customize them to best suit my dog’s needs. While it is my preference to take her with me when I travel, it is not always possible, but that is no longer a worry for me. I am so happy to have found Petra’s Dog Resource Center, and it is the only place I will be leaving my dog.

This is an excellent boarding facility. I have a large in-tact male dog and I can trust the knowledgeable staff at Petra's handle and care for my dog well when needed. The facilities are clean and well maintained. Staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. I would absolutely use this boarding facility again and would highly recommend it to others

This is our first time boarding at Petra’s. Excellent care and hospitality. Very pleased with staff and facilities and the great care given to Sammie and Olive. We loved seeing daily pictures of our pups- so nice to see them and reassuring they’re having a good time!! Petra’s is highly recommended ❤️

I have been using Petra’s DRC services for awhile now, it really has been the only place that I would consider boarding him due to his medical complications. The past few times, I have had a huge hardship getting someone on the phone as well as having to wait outside for periods of time. I don’t like leaving reviews, or saying anything negative, especially because I do love Petra’s so much, but in the coming months it has been harder and harder to get someone on the phone (during posted business hours on their website). We pay a lot of money to keep our dogs here under Petra’s care and I just feel as though, especially with my dogs medical needs while I am away, I should be able to get someone on the phone at least during business hours. I was very excited to use Petra’s again when I saw that they have the new “luxury boarding”, I had no problem at all with the extras cost and was ready to book his reservation because as I said, I love and trust Petra’s. When I called and left a voicemail (1 1/2 weeks ago), I still haven’t gotten a return call (giving them a reasonable amount of time to get back to me) I called again today(1 1/2 weeks later) and I was still not able to get an answer. I love love Petra’s but after the hardships I have been facing, I don’t see how I can trust them with my fur baby any longer. :/

The puppy social is such a great value
Plus they do a wash and air dry that my GS teen LOVES
They send daily updates/pics when we board him and even for puppy social which we absolutely love and appreciate

Everyone treats my dog like their own. They understand her strengths and limitations and bring out her best. Petra et al., speaks "dog". We are so happy to have found them for both therapy and boarding. She is happy being there.

We recently signed up for one of the 6 week classes for our 3 year old male dog. He can be dog reactive, very excitable, and anxious- which is a lot to deal with on the local walks. We signed up with the goal of learning how to manage these behaviors and have him learn how to self-regulate. The classes were tailored to our individualized needs each week. Lots of resources were shared and sent out to us. It was also great because it was a small class size, so I did not need to be constantly concerned another dog was too close for the comfort level of my dog.

The entire staff is exceptional in every way. Hands down. They handle every aspect of boarding with ease and perfection. We have four dogs, all very different personalities and they understand each one.
