We like this place for a boondooking experience. Reason #1 It has plenty of room to park, and other RVS are far enough away that you have privacy. #2 The sunrise and sunset are beautiful and peaceful. A great way to wake up and end your day. #3 The hikes, there are miles and miles of hills to roam. There are tons of quartz rocks to look at, and it's a good way to get out and work your legs. Lol is usually much needed after many miles on the road. You can see the bridge and river from here. The only thing that may be a drawback to some is the road noise. If you go back far enough down the gravel path to the back of the spots, you won't hear it.

Typically, this is one of my favorite places to go to get away from everyone and everything. Honestly, this place is usually a five-star, quiet place. Unfortunately, the seasonal "snowbirds," i.e. people who travel here during the winter and destroy our beautiful lake and its wildlife, always find some way to ruin our beloved paradise. For example, they like to come here to drain their pools, knowing perfectly well that we have a gorgeous lake. Not to mention, all of the garbage and pollution they just LOVE to leave behind. All of which tend to drain our lake and ruin its eco-systems. It would be amazing if people actually showed some respect and appreciation for our amazing city.

An isolated place on the lower Colorado River in AZ and CA. Very quite and peaceful. Good for boating and Bird watching. It preserves habitat for bighorn sheep to the endangered birds and other animals. The refuge protects 30 river miles - 300 miles (480 km) of shoreline.

Had a great Thanksgiving with friends, and with the weather the following day in the low 70's we headed to the river at Pirates Cove, a good place to launch the pontoon boat for a trip down the Colarodo river to south part of Havasu National park.
About half of the way from the start is the gorge. This is a good place to relax, and take in the view.

We went down to castle rock and went kyaking it's a beautiful spot to launch from. It's a bit of a walk to launch your kayaks but it is completely worth the trip. Be sure to follow the water trails for the lead to some very cool places. There is also a good chance you will see some donkeys along the way.
