Absolutely a benefit to this area. This place is warm, welcoming to humans as well as animals who need care, HUMANLY sent over the rainbow bridge (Wildlife only who are already on their way out),and or can manage to function &live a somewhat normal life ... can be brought here. We brought two sparrows who were really ill. The boy way worst off. They were paralyzed. Could've been a nerve condition or even window collisions. That is why its imperative to make sure that your home and or businesses are birds safe (windows) because we're losing too many birds as it is. They really suffer afterwards they don't always bounce back we actually named the male Christopher (after Christopher Reeves) because we really enjoyed him as an actor and we really felt badly after his health diminished. This poor bird was exactly the same as him except he did not have a mini wheelchair to help him get around or an apparatus to help him speak. We had to hold him over the water dish so he could get water... he would try to use his wings to get over to the water bowl. He was very very good at communicating for a wild little bird, and they're so much more intelligent than what people give them credit for. A lot of people have no idea until they actually spend time with birds, that the biggest ones, and the smallest ones are mainly mostly all smart. They are just amazing animals and you could really learn a lot from them if you would just give them time and pay attention to them. This place was amazing... they took them in, they used their best discretion, and said that they would do with them whatever they seen fit. They took them in the back we made a donation, and that was it. It was very simple. It's a great place to take Wildlife if you think they're in need of medical attention, or any problems you think they might have instead of calling the Game Commission (who normally will take the cheap way out I heard and pretty much just euthanize them in a not so nice way because they love to save money). These people in Verona actually do it the correct way, like anybody who loves animals will do. They treat them like living things, as they are... that have personalities, feelings, fears, and they make them as comfortable as they can while they're there or before they let them go. and everybody should know about this place Thank you so much to the young lady who is at the counter she had blonde hair she was absolutely very understanding, and very sympathetic, and very knowledgeable and amazing. I would recommend this place to anybody who wants to help Wildlife thrive. I recently brought this lil guy in the pic attached to this review. He was an orphan. Very loving with ppl however so im not exactly sure what his/her outcome will be (May 2024).

Found an injured bird in my parents' back yard. The woman that took the bird in was helpful and friendly. Really hope they're able to help it. Depending on the outcome, the number of stars I give here may change.

DO NOT bring your rescue HERE because THEY WILL euthanize it!!! By bringing them here, you are taking them directly to their death. I brought a poor baby bat in, perfectly healthy but with a damaged wing. Instead of taking the time to repair the wing, they euthanized it. It still haunts me to this day. I would have just taken care of it myself if I knew these people weren't going to help. They may seem nice and like they care, but they are decieving!!! Again don't bring your injured animals here if you want them to have a fighting chance please go somewhere else!!! And do not donate to this scumbag facility, because your donations are NOT going to medical treatment. I promise you there are better places out there that will ACTUALLY TRY to save the animal. Hope this place gets shut down.

They need donations for feeding the wildlife animals and supplies? See their website for details. Can you drive up there with goodies for the animals? It's getting cold outside. They also need blankets with no holes or fringe.

Place is okay to get to just follow your GPS directions cuz it will have you turn around. If you are coming from the opposite direction of the side the driveway is on. The driveway is horrible and there's big deep ruts on each side and it's only one way so I ran into another car so it was a little bit of a challenge. And I drive a big truck and I didn't want to go in the ruts. Also, there is extremely limited parking so if you have any problems walking bring somebody with you. It's not a far walk from the additional kind of parking lot that they have but it is slightly uphill and it can be a challenge for somebody who's disabled or has a hard time walking. If you're going to do an animal drop off. I noticed that the signage is kind of lacking because I've never been here before and I had to go park in another area and walk up with the animal and really didn't know where I was going. I mean there's only a couple buildings but it was the further one of the two is where you do the animal drop off. It's very small, tiny room. Everyone was nice and of course they took the bunny and I gave a a small donation of formula.

Edit: I need to amend my review and rating. It turns out pretty much every animal we have turned over to these people has been euthanized. Since there was no real rescue and/or rehabilitation, Please disregard my prior positive review. They don't seem to have any problem rescuing things like eagles, no matter their condition, but common animals seem to be quickly put down. The turkey in my pic was euthanized shortly after this photo was taken.

I could euthanize animals myself without the $100 donation I paid every time I've dropped an animal in need off. I guess I'm helping to pay for eagle food, or unwittingly providing it?

Lastly we were admonished for rescuing a pair of baby raccoons, when the organization website said no baby raccoons were being accepted. When we went for care advice, they asked us to turn over the animals and promptly euthanized them after saying we should have brought them in sooner.

We were treated with arrogance and rudeness, and will never donate or turn over animals to them again.

Disregard: We have rescued a few wild animals now, and HARP's wild animal rescue facility has been friendly, helpful and professional for them all. The turkey pictured was run over by a pickup that didn't even slow down, but thankfully HARP was able to care for it. Thank you for providing this useful service.

Horrible place that euthanizes almost all of the animals brought in. Breaks my heart reading these 5 star reviews because I'm sorry, but 9 times out of 10 your rescue was killed. I wonder where the donations go if they're not putting the money towards actually helping these animals. Absolutely sick, disgusting, lying people.

Took my cub scouts here for a visit and we had an amazing time. The boys learned so much. The staff is so nice and helpful. We couldn’t thank them more. Very neat place to take a tour. We were amazed by all of the wild animals and their stories
