Quick 5min walk to the lookout tower which has monocular. Only enough room for two cars to park. Do not block gate.

This is a short walk out to a beautiful Florida Marsh area. At the end of the trail there is a observation deck with some nice views. There was a picnic pavilion that was very clean, the trail is marked. The trail is natural and after a heavy 2 days of rain it was still easy to navigate not too muddy in other words. Wasn't a large parking area but no one else was there anyway! There is a mounted binocular on the observation tower.

Every time we visit this park, I ask myself; why don't I come here more often? ? It really is a hidden gem in Old Homosassa.

The Lastinger Tower trail is wide, smooth, and well maintained trail. It's an easy walk to the observation tower with plenty of shade.
↪️ The Red Cedar and Birding trails are more challenging. Both trails have root and rock trip hazards and can be wet and muddy depending on tides and/or wet weather conditions.
The Red Cedar trail is an interesting hike. If you chose this trail, make sure you're ready to get your feet wet and muddy. See videos in this review to get some idea of how trail conditions can be.
This is a beautiful park, well worth an explore.

↪️ There's a pavilion with picnic tables, a short pier with a nesting platform, a two story platform with benches, and a viewing scope for viewing the marsh.
↪️ NO trash cans here, so be prepared to carry out your waste. The park is very clean. ?
↪️ At times, no-see-ums can be brutal here. Bug spray is highly recommended. ?
↪️ I have seen people fishing (and catching) here. ?
↪️ Parking is very limited.

Short trail to an overlook. Nice view. The side trails were covered in some water so wear boots if you want to navigate those.

It’s honestly not a bad trail.. but do not forget to wear shoes that you do not mind getting muddy and possibly wet. It’s a loop trail with a tower at the end that you can see the salt marshes. It’s very pretty, and a very simple hike. The bugs can be bad at certain times of the year, and again, there are parts that are very muddy. To avoid the mud, just take the straight trail as it goes right to the tower.

Found this little park by accident. Main trail was wide an clear and winds it way to marshland. There you'll find a pavilion on the way to an two story overlook of the marsh and inlets, free to use telescope for viewing wildlife in the area. There is also a kayak launch if you are up to hauling your kayak in by hand or on wheels. There are a couple other trails that wind around from the main entrance to here also, but when we were there they appeared in rough condition. Perhaps they hadn't finished cleanup from hurricane Irma yet. Numerous plaques along the trails with wildlife and fauna info. Very relaxing place.

Nice easy walk, fairly level throughout with an amazing pier and lookout tower on the back side. Probably would risk this hike after a rain as there were some low spots. We’re fairly active and our children are 11 and 13, everyone made the trip with ease. Took about 45 mins with some reflection time at the lookout.
