C'est les propriétaires de ce lieu horrible qui devraient etre derrière les barreaux, pas ces pauvres primates!

Very well kept little zoo. The volunteers are super friendly and great with the animals. The Ptimates a super entertaining. There is tons of shade, you can bring your own lunch and sit down in shaded area to eat. Play areas for small children as well.

I’ve never felt more sorry for animals
more than when I visited this sanctuary, its a unique experience not even busch gardens offers, but im not sure where the ticket money is going towards. All of the people there working were very generously donating their time as volunteers and were very kind and informative, which means 0 cost for the facility. There wasn’t a single fan or air conditioner in sight, and the only relief from the heat was a $3 bottle of water. Even the monkeys were feeling the heat, most of them looked absolutely miserable. If everyone there paid the $8 ticket fee like I did (perhaps reduced due to the groupon I used), why can’t we afford some sort of fan or bath for the monkeys? Locking them in a metal cage with no way to cool off seems extraordinarily inconsiderate, if I’m feeling the heat in a tshirt and shorts, they have to feel it under all the fur. They all appeared lethargic and agitated, they did not look or act healthy

Furthermore, while I understand it is a sanctuary and not a zoo, you’re often between 3 layers of fences for the primates. Sometime between the years visiting here, they have put up additional fences so it’s impossible to get close to them and interact with them other than quietly admiring them from a distance.

I wouldn’t come here expecting a ton to do like at busch gardens, especially if you have young kids that may overheat. I was destined to stay longer for an hour (we ran out of things to see after about 30 minutes) and even the volunteer at the front gate was astonished we hadn’t left yet when we came asking where the bathroom was.

Unless you love primates, actually, especially if you love primates, (this made my animal crazy girlfriend tear up) you’re better off going to busch gardens or a zoo, I appreciate the sentiment but the animals look miserable, and I was getting miserable myself with no tangible way to cool off from the 110° weather.

We had an absolutely wonderful time here last weekend! Just up the road from where we recently moved in Dunedin... So glad we finally made it over to the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary. Both the staff and the volunteers were so lovely and friendly and helpful. And sure I wish I could have gotten closer to the monkeys... but it was still very cool to see so many different creatures who've been rescued from whatever their circumstances may have been. Like the three-legged gator! The gator show was very cool. And we don't even have kids!! And the boars/pigs whatever they might be in the back or just an absolute delight. Such cool animals all around!

Staff are wonderful, they treat the primates there like family, even giving them privacy time to time. I knocked over something and they just passed if off, saying it's okay and all. Glad they're taking care of these primates.

Had such a great time visiting this sanctuary with my family over spring break vacation. Twin B loves animals and really wanted to go and I’m so glad we did.

We found discount tickets on Groupon. I love that the sanctuary sells peanuts to feed some of the animals.

The day we went, the weather was perfect. We saw alligators, turtles, goats, cows, giant tortoise, so many different species of monkeys. Watched an alligator show. Really enjoyed walking around the entire sanctuary.

The highlights were Pongo the orangutan, and Harry the chimpanzee! Harry was quite the character. Got a lot of video footage of him entertaining and being silly and even mooning us! ?

Shout out to the volunteers who give their time and effort to keep this place running. It truly is a gem I hope future visitors will support.

They have a lot of incredible animals there and need as much help as possible to take care of them all. Please be generous when visiting!

I just love this place. I love that it's a non profit. I would like to say how disgusted I was by the mother who encouraged her daughter to continue to harass a monkey so she could get video. It's bad enough they're in cages, the don't need morons like you making them upset. You're a full grown adult. You shouldn't have to be reported for harassing monkeys. I was glad they seem to have made you leave as soon as I reported you. I also hope you're reading this.

The exhibits are awesome. You can feed most of the monkeys through PVC pipe. Bobby the chimp was my favorite even though he kept grabbing poop to throw. He never did. We just kept making funny noises and he kept interacting with me. We even got to see the one monkey steal a workers hat. She tried to trade him but he liked his hat!! Overall just an awesome place.
